The 5 point Likert scale allows users to express their attitude towards a certain subject, and show how much they agree or disagree with that point. Standard Likert scale would include 5 points with a 'Neutral', 'Unsure' or 'Undecided' middle option, so that users could indicate strength of their feelings. One of the most typical examples would be: 'Strongly Disagree > Disagree > Undecided > Agree > Strongly Agree'.

A good SaaS survey would use not only the default Likert scale 'Agree <> Disagree', but also varied questions denoting the frequency (‘Always, Often, .... Never’), Importance (‘Very important .... Unimportant’), Quality (‘Excellent, Good... Poor’), Likelihood (‘Always....Rarely True, or Definitely, Possibly....Definitely Not’). These gradations ensure that the situation is described from multiple angles, as well as provide freedom to users to express the degree of their opinions and not only give simple yes/no answers.
