Visme Appoints Gennadii Ivanov as Vice President of Engineering
Washington, D.C. – Engineering leader joins to drive the company’s AI transformation and build the foundation for its next stage of growth.
Visme announces the appointment of Gennadii Ivanov as Vice President of Engineering. Gennadii joined the company in August and now leads Visme’s global engineering organization, with a mandate to focus the team on the company’s most strategic initiatives and deepen AI across both the product engineering and the development process itself.
Visme is an AI-powered content platform that helps business teams create and manage branded presentations, reports, proposals, and visual content at scale. Gennadii’s appointment follows the recent release of AI Creation Studio and reflects the company’s continued investment in AI-native product development.
Gennadii brings experience leading globally distributed engineering teams. He has also worked across Product, Engineering and Growth, and has guided engineering teams through periods of significant business growth.
Three priorities for the engineering organization
Gennadii has outlined three areas of focus. The first is strengthening the engineering organization itself, identifying the right people, giving them meaningful opportunities and supporting their growth. The second is improving internal Product and Engineering processes, with an emphasis on cross-team collaboration and business outcomes. The third is AI transformation.
“We shouldn’t just build AI features or use AI to build features. We should integrate AI agents into every part of the development process, from code reviews and observability to reporting, testing and eventually bug fixing.”
That view extends to how Visme evaluates what it builds. The company has adopted an AI-first approach to product development, where an early question on any customer request is how AI can help fulfill it better.
“AI shouldn’t be something we add simply because the market expects it. It should solve real customer problems and make the product meaningfully better.”
Connecting engineering to customer outcomes
Gennadii is also reworking how customer requests move through the organization, with the aim of improving visibility into what users need and accountability for delivering it. Visme’s Enterprise plan provides a direct feedback channel through dedicated Customer Success Managers, which gives the engineering team a clear read on customer priorities.
He does not treat Product, Design and Engineering as separate teams. “They are parts of one organization with aligned goals and incentives,” he said. “Building strong synergy between these functions and enabling collaborative decision-making is critical to our success.”
What stays the same
When asked what he is deliberately not changing, Gennadii pointed to the culture he found upon arrival.
“One thing I really love about Visme is how invested people are in what they do. There’s a genuine sense of ownership and care for the product, and that’s something I want to protect as we continue to grow.”
He added that he sees leadership as a two-way exchange. “People often think about learning as a one-way process, where a leader is expected to teach the team. I see it very differently. I learn a lot from the people I work with as well.”
